New Dormitories Completed

Natural Spring

First there was this post titled ‘We’ve Bought Land’, then came our 2015 posts about starting construction. Now three years later we have great news: our new dormitories are complete! We now have double the dormitory space, double the kitchen space, and a lovely office for our social workers.

A major highlight was seeing our own graduates working on the construction. When we first met Omar he was a young, vulnerable street child with no education. After a few years living with Hope Street Omar started a polytech course in carpentry… now he is a qualified worker and was able to help us finish our project campus. Omar dreams of opening his own workshop and being able to give apprenticeships to street-children.

We have a lot of gratitude for an amazing couple in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, who donated the funds to complete these buildings – thank you!
