Meet Owen

Owen sends his heartfelt thanks to Hope St supporters, saying, “Thank you, God bless you. Thank you for helping us.”

Owen is on the ORA Uganda sponsorship programme and was previously sponsored by an organisation in Austria. Unfortunately, the organisation ceased sponsorship in 2022, leaving 35 children without sponsors. Our local partners, ORA Uganda, have continued providing for these children in the interim, in the hope that new sponsors will be found. This is putting immense financial strain on the organisation. Owen is still without a sponsor; here’s his story.

Owen joined the sponsorship programme in 2019. He is currently in Primary 6. Over the last year, Owen improved his attendance, which is a significant achievement, establishing strong bonds with both teachers and peers. He is starting to show more commitment to his studies, and with regular tuition, we are hopeful his performance will improve. Owen aspires to become a mechanic.

Owen is described as playful and hardworking by his guardians, who care for eight children on a low income. ORA Uganda provides vital support, guidance, and counselling to the family. Owen has home responsibilities, including tending to the garden and cooking. He loves his family and home life and is well-loved in the community.

If you would like to sponsor Owen, please email info@hopestreet.org.
