ORA Uganda Christmas party

In December one of our international partners, ORA Uganda, hosted their annual Christmas party. Every year the sponsored children and their guardians are invited to the ORA Uganda compound to meet with the staff and celebrate the Christmas holidays together. The sponsored children receive cards from their sponsors and gifts.

The Christmas party is an opportunity for the children to dance, laugh, and celebrate another school year. For our Ugandan social workers it is also an opportunity to catch up with the children’s guardians and reflect on the year. This year, ORA Uganda had one of their graduates return to MC the party – Francis. Francis joined the sponsorship programme in 2010 and graduated in 2023 after completing his tertiary education and qualifying as a medical clinical officer. It is wonderful for the children on the programme to see a role model from the programme.

One of our board members, Megan, recalls how during a visit to Uganda the children treasured the Christmas cards they had received and had kept all of the cards over their years on the sponsorship programme.
